Third party filetype - MXLIFF can't work during automation

Hi,

In order to process Memosource file (mxliff), I installed below filetype, it works when work offline by Trados Studio.

Trados Studio File Types settings window showing Memsource MXLIFF file type installed with name and description fields highlighted.

But I created some automations by SDK of Trados Studio (Create Project, Convert, Analyze...), I use same sample files of MXLIFF for testing, it throw below exception although the filetype for MXLIFF already installed in my Trados Studio:

Source files can't be recognized/converted to Translatable Format by automation

I confirm my automation can work well with other format of files, eg: docx, html, xml, xlsx....

If this means Trados Studio SDK can't identify third party filetype?

Any suggestion will be much appreciated.

  • Hi Paul,

    Thanks for your response.

Yes, I use a template, I checked that, this filetype is enabled already.

Trados Studio Project Template Settings window showing 'MXLIFF' file type enabled with a red box around it.

Error log in a program code indicating 'Source files can't be recognizedconverted to Translatable Format' with a red box highlighting the error message.

I can open MXLIFF by this template in trados studio without problem, but when call same template in my program, it will throw: Source files can't be recognized/converted to Translatable Format

I have log in my program which will record which template will be called, I checked my log, template in my screenshot was called.

My program can work well with other filetypes along with template. I am not sure why MXLFIFF can't work.

    Regards.

    Luhao
