Technical Days for SDL products

This month we are going to be running a couple of product days specifically aimed at our users in Asia.  The first event will take place in Shanghai, China on Thursday the 20th July, and the second in Tokyo, Japan on Friday the 28th July.  I know this could be a long way for you to travel from your home in China, but I do hope you’ll be able to attend one of the locations.

Both days are going to be geared towards you the user.  If you are a developer this is a great opportunity to come and work with Romulus Crisan who is responsible for supporting developers through the use of the APIs.  You may have come across Romulus in the SDL Developer Community, or through his technical blog.

If you are not a developer but have questions around the use of the products then you might find it useful to come and meet Paul Filkin who you may know from the SDL Community or through his blog multifarious.

The agenda for the days is below, but the most important part is that these days are for you, so we are keeping the details flexible enough to allow us to deal with the things you want to know about the most:

AGENDA

9:30-10:00 Reception

 10:00-12:00 Presentations

  • Understanding the role of APIs in SDL products
  • Customer presentation
  • What's good in the SDL AppStore today?
  • SDL Community essentials!

12:00-13:00 Break

 13:00-16:30 Workshop

  • This is intended to be an interactive and useful session covering topics that we hope all attendees will find useful.  Because there are very different needs we are prepared to run two tracks, one for developers and another for those more interested in general use of SDL software.  You are encouraged to send in your questions in advance in case anything needs a little preparation time, but we’re ready and looking forward to tackling anything on the day!
    • Developer track
      • Technical introduction - evolution of the APIs
      • Project Management outside of GroupShare (REST API)
        • Available REST actions (creation, listing, file statuses, assignments, project templates, analysis etc.)
      • GroupShareKit
        • Simplification of the REST actions
      • Build a sample application
    • User track
      • Studio/MultiTerm Q&A
      • SDL AppStore Applications Q&A

You can register for the events through the following websites:

Shanghai : http://cn.mikecrm.com/Azss0bO

If you have specific questions you’d like to discuss then please respond to this email and we can be sure we’re prepared to discuss them on the day.

Hope to see you in a few weeks.
