Change DLANGUAGE case, causing errors

Question

We are running into an issue with Publication Output, once we updated our DLANGUAGE values from lower case to upper case. The publication output (FISHPUBLNGCOMBINATION) stores the language value as a string and is case sensitive. I attempted updating it through the API, but get an error that this metadata field can't be updated. Any ideas...

Hi Akheil - Changing the languages on a running system holding legacy data is not supported. The ripple effect is too big. Besides what you noticed, you should know that language identifiers are in several configuration files from FullTextIndex over Translation Mgmt up to the client tools. They are also in the <?ish xml processing instruction in every stored OASIS DITA xml file. My advice would be to roll-back.
