Provide UI and error-handling support for min-occurs, max-occurs and other schema constraints.: Status History

Below is the history of changes to this idea's status. Return to the idea.

  • Idea Delivered

This idea has been included in SDL Tridion Sites 9.5.

Although it is not yet possible in Experience Space to edit the schema constraints like min-occurs, max-occurs and other validation constraints for example regular expressions (content modeling will be a feature added later to this UI), creating content will follow these constraints and the user is guided in the UI with error messages when applicable.

  • Planned for Future Release

We are planning to over improved error handling support for schema constraints in a future version of Tridion Sites.

  • Under Community Review

Some of the occurrence constraints are already enforced like min/max for multi-value fields and the rest inside Experience Manager.

The other two parts for us to consider here are:

    1. Schema options to set the available constraints
    2. Near real-time validation of the constraints for users for each type and across the UIs

Regarding the example of constraining number of Widgets in a given place on a Page: that is covered by Region constraints in Tridion Sites 9.
