Search and Replace in selection

I am really missing the posibility of search and replace in a selection.
I have two scenarios:

  1. Select a number of lines in the string view and replace only within this selection.
  2. Use a filter to limit the list of string shown and replace only in the filtered view.

In either cases I would need an option to search and replace within selection.

  • I know it's an old post, but I'd like to push Lars' idea once more. Please add option "Selected strings".
    "Selected resources" is not specific enough. If I select or filter some strings and replace in "selected resources", some unselected strings within the same resource will be changed that I didn't want to change.

    However, I don't find my suggestion in your list, because I want to replace only in selected strings (not in the tree view).

    We have improved the Search and Replace functionalities in Passolo 2018 by adding specific places to look in and replace:

    • „all string lists” – to look for all the string lists of the current project

    • “all open string lists” – to look only for the open source or target string lists from entire project

    • „all open string lists in current tab” – to look only for the open source string lists in the current Source tab or target string lists in the current Target Language tab

    • „current resource” – to look in only one selected resource from the Resources Tree view

    • „selected resources” - to look in multiple selected resources from the Resources Tree view
