Automatically change file view to target after "Prepare (without project TM)"

I use "Prepare without project TM" for every single job I do. I then have to manually change the File view from German to English (in my case) before I can open the file for editing. I can't think of any circumstances where I wouldn't want to go straight to editing, so why not automate the switch of view?

  • For single language projects on the translator's/editor's end, this makes perfect sense. However, from an agency perspective, where multiple target languages are more common, I'd rather it stay in the source, so I can finish whatever else needs to be done in the project setup.

  • I only translate Ger-Eng. I have set up a "Project" for each of my customers, and then add the files to the appropriate project as the jobs come in. So unless I get a new customer, I only ever add files (nearly always Word files) to existing projects.

  • This must only happen when adding a file to an existing project? For a single target language project I agree... but for multilingual projects there should be a prompt to select the language you wish to work with.
