In and Out Packages -> Option for defining global folder or: deactivate

Is there a chance we can make Studio save the in and out packages whereelse than in the project folders? So we can delete these files from time to time as we have so many space consumed at the end?

Or can we deactivate the function of creating backups in the in/out folders?

Best regards

  • What Burim probably means here are the "internal" packages created when you create project as Project Manager and then "Export Package" (and then later "Import Package" received from translator).

These packages are automatically stored within Studio project folder in "Packages" folder (in "In" and "Out" subfolders), without any possibility to prevent or change this behavior.

What's more, even failed exports/imports create files here, further cluttering the project and adding HUGE amounts of data (packages tend to be BIG, especially when big main TMs get included in them)

  • This is possible since Studio exists. You save the project package wherever you want. When importing a package simply chose a folder. Then select "Append project name to path" (or similar), then Studio will create a new folder in the main folder, where you decided to put the package - this way you can store more or less all packages in that folder.

Any changes in that behavior will force experienced user to change their way of working and thus I would NOT recommend to make any.
