So far, QuickInsert functionality is defined separately for each file type, which is ok, but it may create problems, when the respective filter does not allow you to define QuickInsert at all, for whatever reason. For ex., the current version of Memsource filter is exactly like this and one cannot do anything at all, except for making their own filter and it's quite inconvenient.

Don't get me wrong - I like when one can assign some specific functionality to a QuickInsert button which is only needed for a specific file type, but certain things (e.g. the degree symbol) are needed with every filter and not all regional keyboards (input methods) have such a symbol.
