What's New in SDL
Detecting language please wait for.......
We have just released the latest update to SDL Language Cloud’s translation management capabilities and we are excited to announce that it delivers some great innovation and functionality.
To benefit from the new features and updates, just login to SDL Language Cloud and they will be available immediately.
Reporting
In addition to the previously released Project Report, we have now released three additional out of the box reports:
Public API – Project Management
We have now released the first set of SDL Language Cloud Public APIs focused around Project Management supporting the following use cases:
The documentation can be found here: https://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc/api-docs
More details will follow in a subsequent blog post and further API endpoints will be delivered as a continuous delivery.
Connectors for Language Cloud project creation
In addition to Connectors which can be used from Customer Portal and/or are integrated with native systems, we have now extended the ability to make use of connectors for Project creation in the SDL Language Cloud user interface.
Hot folder monitoring
Customers can now purchase folder monitoring capabilities for SDL Language Cloud, this enables the watching of certain folders on a schedule and automating project creation and delivery.
This is currently available for FTP, SFTP and GIT repositories and will be extended to other repositories over time.
To configure Hot folder monitoring click on your Avatar on top right and select the Integration menu item, which will give you options to setup the Automation.
SDL Tridion Sites connector
SDL Tridion Sites can now connect to SDL Language Cloud for project creation, tracking and delivery. This solution leverages the current native Tridion Translation Manager for a seamless integration.
Please reach out to your SDL Account Management team for details.
Microsoft Machine Translation provider
In addition to the previously released SDL Machine Translation and Google Machine Translation Provider, the Add-On Store now contains a new Microsoft Machine Translation provider. This Provider can be used in the same way as SDL and Google.
To install the provider click on your avatar on the top right and select Add-Ons and Install the Microsoft Translator provider.
Automated SSO User Provisioning
Users can now be automatically provisioned to specific tenants and groups through mapping rules. For example, all users from ACME.COM will be created in group “Customer Requesters” within the ACME Customer folder. This avoids the need to pre-provision users in SDL Language Cloud.
The setup of this feature is provided by SDL staff.
Notification improvements
Errors and warnings are now persisted within a session and enriched with more detail. This makes it easier to troubleshoot and report issues to Customer Support by providing the trace ID and additional details.
Additional changes
We hope this post was informative and we look forward to continuing to provide you with updates to the product.
