The architecture for "my" writers in GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences requires a way of working where there is a constant need in Publication Manager to copy GUIDs from the object Properties > General tab to put together maps and so on.
There is a shortcut Alt + Enter to open the properties of course, but as GUIDs are so elemental it would be nice to have one shortcut that collects the GUID without having to open the object Properties.
I am just curious if other users have the same thoughts, and how you handle copying GUIDs all day :-).

Hi Peter. One thing you can try is in the Web Client, locate the Publication, then select a version and click the Report button. That will run the pub report on the English source language. You can click Download on the Report screen to get a CSV file. Open it in Excel and you've got all the GUIDs to your pub at your cut and paste disposal.
That can indeed be of help.
Thanks a lot!
Pam's tip is perfect for getting the GUIDs in bulk.
To get the GUID of a single object, 'Copy Link' option on the web interface does the magic.
That might help too, thank you. It's slightly less cumbersome than copying the GUID from the Properties. tab in Publication Manger.
The main issue is when we are working with objects that are not yet part of a publication baseline, working with hrefs and using the GUID to insert images or xrefs.
Hi Peter - may I recommend you add this request to the Ideas page?
Pam Noreault is there a way to convert this discussion topic to an idea?
I don't know of a way to convert this to an idea. Good old fashioned cut and paste.
Thank you Elizabeth!
I added this as an idea. I also noticed that Kathryn Bennett has already posted a similar idea.
