No SQL Server 2017 skeletons in Tridion Docs 14SP1 installer

How can I bootstrap a SQL Server 2017 for Tridion Docs 14SP1 clean install? The documentation refers to dump files for 2017 (https://docs.sdl.com/LiveContent/content/en-US/SDL%20Tridion%20Docs-v2.1.1/GUID-2AB53FDA-E9CB-4D46-A393-EEE6CF256554#addHistory=true&filename=GUID-6796D72D-B60B-4FBB-8532-77453F0977BF.xml&docid=GUID-DF62DCEE-3162-4336-8D36-D900129207F9&inner_id=&tid=&query=&scope=&resource=&toc=false&eventType=lcContent.loadDocGUID-DF62DCEE-3162-4336-8D36-D900129207F9) but they are not present in the installer, only the SQL Server 2016 ones, which are not compatible with 2017.

  • Hi Dave! I'm setting this instance up for our tech writers to evaluate new features before we'll do a major upgrade, so it is a throwaway instance. Unfortunately SQL Server 2017 throws an exception when trying to restore from a 2016 bak file. I decided to skip the sample database and will use the Import Tool to add some demo content. However, the InstallTool does not create any DB objects: it fails at this step: "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Invalid object name 'dbo.ish_setup_history'." So I'm stuck setting up a clean install with a SQL Server 2017. Just by curiosity, I bypassed this step by manually creating the table with the create sql table scripts. After that the install script completes, but still no tables.
