This latest release of the Digital Experience Accelerator introduces several enhancements, including:

Contextual view switching functionality which allows you to render a different View for various different devices. So you can deliver more relevant content to users depending on the device being used. It also introduces the Context Expressions module, allowing for an easy way to manage the relevant content via Context Expression Target Group conditions defined in the Content Manager.

A new TRACE logging level, for more detailed information about the different DXA operations, which you can use for diagnostic purposes.

Custom Media Manager players, introducing out of the box support for the Media Manager Distribution JSON. So you have the ability to embed backgroud video in a page, and manage a carousel from Media Manager directly through client-side JavaScript code.

The SDL Digital Experience Accelerator 1.5 now uses the SDL Web 8 Content Interaction Library (CIL) 8.2 from the SDL Web Cloud (released last week). This is compatible with the Content Interaction Services (CIS) from the Cumulative Update 1 for SDL Web 8, as well as the SDL Web Cloud. CIL 8.2 contains earlier CIL hotfixes and performance improvements.

DXA 1.5 is therefore available for SDL Tridion 2013 SP1, SDL Web 8 CU1 and SDL Web Cloud, in both Java and .NET. More details about this release are available in the online documentation.
