I am very pleased to announce the following updates to SDL Web Products, scheduled for release on March 31st:

SDL Web Core

Cumulative Update (8.1.1) for SDL Web, containing the following highlights:

  • Updated Content Interaction Libraries with several fixes and performance optimizations
  • Updated Topology Manager and Content Interaction Services scripts for easier setup of environments and automated deployments with reduced configuration steps
  • Proxy for the Contextual Image Delivery (CID) Microservice
  • Support for Microsoft Visio 2016

Publication Mappings UI for Web 8 and Topology Manager

As promised before, we now have a Graphical User Interface for managing Publication Mappings from within the Content Manager Explorer. This extension is available for free download (including source code) from here.

Experience Optimization for Web 8

SDL Web’s Experience Optimization now talks MicroServices. This update to our flagship personalization add-on includes support for Web 8’s microservice architecture, as well as many under-the-hood improvements to data indexing formats. A number of fixes made it into this release as well, based primarily on the feedback from implementers at customers like TomTom, Reliance and Turkish Airlines.

An updated DXA module for Experience Optimization will be released at the same time, simplifying and reducing the time needed for adoption.

Implementer / Partner Enablement

As promised at the Tridion Developer Summit in Amsterdam last September, we have gone the extra mile and made the following available to all implementers:

  • Nuget packages for .NET SDL Web Content Interaction Libraries
  • Maven Central packages for Java Content Interaction Libraries
  • DXA 1.3 was also made available using these channels, and can be downloaded from here (.NET) or here.

Pre-release versions of the CIL artifacts can already be downloaded from here for Java and here for .NET.

Update for SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 HR1

Java 8 support for Content Delivery is coming to 2013 SP1 HR1. A much-expected update to our platform support, allowing our enterprise customers to remain in compliance with their security guidelines without needing to upgrade SDL Web.

Edit: Java 8 support was added specifically for SDL Tridion 2013 SP1 HR1. An earlier version of this post didn't note the hotfix roll-up (HR1).
