Firefox update

Modzilla have released an update to Firefox that seems to impact the uploading of translated/reviewed files in SDLTMS for some users.

The nature of this is that the uploaded file is prefixed with an _ character. Unfortunately SDLTMS uses the filename to identify the Task ID number that this corresponds to and results in a failed upload.

There are 2 workarounds for this:

  1. to zip the file(s) and upload the zip file. SDLTMS will upload the file with the underscore character but the files within will not be affected and will integrate successfully.
  2. use a different browser

Although this issue has been triggered by the external browser and (some settings within),  we are investigating this as it is impacting the use of SDLTMS.

If you have any further issues or unable to workaround this then please raise a support case through the normal channels.

Thank you

  • SDL TMS 11.1 and 11.2 support up to FireFox ESR 45.
Mozilla has just released v.50, which unfortunately triggers this issue on 11.1 (or earlier).
The issue does not happen with 11.2 because the Engineering team has released a new upload component (more robust, with multiple file selection as well as drag and drop functionalities), and this component is not affected by the changes introduced by Mozilla FF in their new release.
As this new upload component is a big piece of work and affects a fair amount of pages in the application, this is not something that can be backported in 11.1.
Workaround provided by Andrew are indeed the ones recommended.
We're working on validating this browser with the next version of SDL TMS.
