WS 11.1.1 | CRQ-9528 | Improve package import performance for file types that have embedded content processing enabled

Description:

You can now import Studio return packages that contain assets whose corresponding file types use embedded content processing more quickly.

Resolution:

Upgrade to the latest version of the File Type Support (FTS) Server, available on FTP.

To do so:

1. Back up the Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.HostProcess.exe.config and Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.Launcher.exe.config files.
2. Uninstall your existing instance of the FTS Server.
3. Copy the FileTypeSupportServer.msi installer from FTP to your machine.
4. Run the FileTypeSupportServer.msi installer to upgrade to version 11.1.1.1701 of the FTS Server.
5. Compare the new Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.HostProcess.exe.config and Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.Launcher.exe.config files with the ones you backed up. If there are any additional properties in the new files, add them to the backup files as well.
6. Restore the backed up Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.HostProcess.exe.config and Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.Launcher.exe.config files.
7. Restart the FTS Server.

If you cannot upgrade, connect to the Customer Support Web Portal and log a case. You need an account to log a case. If you do not have an account, contact your company's SDL Support Account Administrator.

Important!

For this version of the FTS Server, you need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (x86) on your FTS Server machine. Make sure you download the 32-bit version (x86) regardless of your system configuration. Before you install it, you might also need to apply certain Windows updates. For more information, see the Visual Studio 2017 system requirements.
