WS 11.1.1 CU7 General Availability

Hello everyone,

I am glad to announce the availability of WS 11.1.1 CU7.

It contains the following fixes:

CRQ-3339, CRQ-3606 Two issues related to TM entries have been resolved. After you apply this cumulative update, TM entries that are eligible to become ICE matches are no longer demoted to 100% matches.
CRQ-4606

You can now save in Browser Workbench XML assets that meet the following conditions:

  • They contain multiple tags marked as Translatable (except in protected content) within a Not Translatable tag.
  • They are processed with the Custom XML (Embedded Content Processor) or Custom XML (Legacy Embedded Content) file type.
CRQ-5894

TM entries are now updated properly if you confirm and update target segments that contain tracked changes and the workflow is configured to update the TM in non-Live TM mode.

CRQ-8380

Unnecessary formatting tags are no longer extracted when segmenting IDML assets with the Adobe InDesign CS4-CC file type.

CRQ-9528

Import performance has been improved for SDL Trados Studio return packages with assets whose corresponding file types use embedded content processing.

CRQ-9613

The stats engine now recovers after database outages and continues to process the jobs that are waiting in the queue. The job executed at the time of each database outage will be moved to the Failed state.

CRQ-10731

Changes proposed through Track Changes in Studio return packages are now applied automatically when you update the TM in WorldServer. For example, added text is included and deleted text is removed.

Important! In WorldServer versions prior to 11.2, segments containing translation quality assessment (TQA) markers from SDL Trados Studio, such as deletions or additions, will be imported to WorldServer as they are. When these segments are added to the translation memory, the added text is included, but the deleted text is not removed and the TQA markup is present. As such, they are unlikely to provide the expected reuse or leverage. You should not upload return packages into WorldServer 11.1.1 if they contain unaccepted TQA markup.
WorldServer officially supports TQA starting with version 11.2.

This CU also contains the fixes delivered in the previous ones.

Deploy this CU on a WorldServer 11.1.1 database schema. If you are using an earlier version of WorldServer, you need to upgrade your database schema to WorldServer 11.1.1 before deploying this CU. The deployment procedure is presented in the readme.txt file.

CU7 is available on the public FTP.

SDL will provide regular cumulative updates, so that customers can benefit from the latest improvements and prevent potential issues. You can find announcements about new updates here.

Important! For this release, you need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (x86) on your FTS Server machine. Make sure you download the 32-bit version (x86) regardless of your system configuration. Before you install it, you might also need to apply certain Windows updates. For more information, see the Visual Studio 2017 system requirements.
