WS 11.3.1 General Availability

It is a pleasure to announce the general availability of WorldServer 11.3.1.

Added features:

Area Description
Project creation You can now use existing project groups as templates for creating new ones on the WorldServer 11 interface.
REST API The WorldServer REST API has a new endpoint (/tasks/{taskId}/asset) that you can use to update source assets. After you update a source asset through the REST API, complete its corresponding task in WorldServer. At this point, the task you completed is given the Restarted status and WorldServer creates a new task, identical to the previous one (but with a different task ID). Use this new task to translate and review the updated source asset.

Tasks WSXI-11019 On the Projects page of the WorldServer 11 interface, you can now complete all the active tasks in one or more projects or project groups even if those projects or project groups also contain completed, canceled, restarted, or succeeded tasks. The tasks that you complete need to be in the same workflow step.  
SDL Trados Studio integration   WSXI-10945 Translation quality assessment (TQA) profiles are now included in translation kits exported from WorldServer regardless of the step type of the exported tasks. The project type, however, still needs to have a quality model associated with it. 
CRQ-9528 Import performance has been improved for SDL Trados Studio return packages with assets whose corresponding file types use embedded content processing. 
CRQ-5894 TM entries are now updated properly if you confirm and update target segments that contain tracked changes (either from SDL Trados Studio or from SDL Online Editor) and the workflow is configured to update the TM in non-Live TM mode.
SDL Online Editor integration CRQ-8897 An issue related to TM lookups not returning any matches in SDL Online Editor has been resolved. Note that, for SDL Online Editor to work properly, you need to use project types with the Studio scoping mode.
File types and segmentation CRQ-8565  The File Type Support (FTS) Server retry mechanism for Segment, Export, and Import operations has been changed. You can specify how many times you want the FTS Server to retry such operations in case of database errors by modifying the value of the TransactionRetries property in the Sdl.WorldServer.FileTypeSupport.Server.HostProcess.exe.config file.
CRQ-8380 Unnecessary formatting tags are no longer extracted when segmenting IDML assets with the Adobe InDesign CS4-CC IDML file type.
Performance CRQ-9053 An issue related to performance decreases when submitting a very large number of projects at the same time has been resolved.
Workflow Engine CRQ-9030 An issue related to database deadlocks from the Workflow Engine when importing multiple return packages at the same time has been resolved.
Project types CRQ-8920 As of this release, the Studio scoping mode is used by default for newly created project types (the value of the scoping_mode property in the tm.properties file is studio).
The WorldServer database CRQ-8816 An issue related to database deadlocks occurring when archiving cost models has been resolved.
CRQ-7955 You can now specify SERVICE_NAME in the TNS definition of your Oracle database instance.
REST API CRQ-8718 The correct status is now displayed when you call the projectGroups/search endpoint without including all the available parameters.
Libraries CRQ-8407 The joda-time library has been updated to allow access to S3 using the AWS Java SDK.
Applets CRQ-8359 The client.jar file has been uploaded to avoid potential issues when opening applets.
Attributes CRQ-6840 Apostrophes in file names no longer lead to issues when adding or modifying attachment-type attributes.
User permissions CRQ-6405

On the Projects page, the users whose corresponding use type does not have the Can view projects of clients the user is a member of permission can no longer select projects for clients I am a member of in the View list. As a result, they can no longer view projects with other locales than the ones assigned to them.

Note: In certain cases, you might need to open and save all the user profiles (without necessarily changing them) for this fix to be applied.
Translation memories CRQ-3606 An issue related to TM entries without placeholders not becoming ICE matches has been resolved.

SDL will provide regular cumulative updates, so that customers can benefit from the latest improvements and prevent potential issues. You can find announcements about new updates here.

WorldServer 11.3.1 is available on the public FTP.

Important! For this release, you need to install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 (x86) on your FTS Server machine. Make sure you download the 32-bit version (x86) regardless of your system configuration. Before you install it, you might also need to apply certain Windows updates. For more information, see the Visual Studio 2017 system requirements.
