WS 11.4.2 General Availability

Hello everyone,

I am glad to announce the availability of WorldServer 11.4.2.

It contains the following fixes:

Affected area or component ID Description
File types and segmentation CRQ-3921 An issue related to improper segmentation when using language resource templates has been resolved.
User interface CRQ-5326 If HTTPS is configured on your environment via proxy, you can save search filters and remove search criteria on the Projects page of the Classic interface.
WorldServer TransPort CRQ-5492 TransPort users can now upload file attributes when creating projects with the new wizard.
Background jobs CRQ-9385 Assignment background jobs are now retried three times in case of failure. If a job still fails after all three retries, an email notification message is sent to the user who performed the action that started the job or, if the job runs under the SYSTEM user, to all system administrators.
Integration with SDL MultiTerm CRQ-12974 If WorldServer is connected with SDL MultiTerm Server, WorldServer now releases the SDL MultiTerm licenses that it uses after exporting tasks or opening tasks in Browser Workbench.
File types and segmentation CRQ-13514 In OASIS DITA XML file type configurations, if you set the //draft-comment element as a non-translatable structure tag, WorldServer no longer extracts it as translatable.
User interface CRQ-14200 Multi-line text is no longer displayed on a single line after changing a project's attributes.
Integration with SDL Tridion Docs CRQ-15156 An issue related to projects from Tridion Docs not being created when WorldServer is connected to an Oracle database has been resolved.
Database CRQ-15386 In certain high-usage situations, an error related to the assignment of unique IDs to segments was displayed when segmenting assets, indicating that the maximum threshold of ID values had been reached. As a temporary workaround, the BcmParagraphUnits table has been extended to support negative values as well.
Integration with SDL Tridion Docs, REST API CRQ-15406 When downloading target assets using the REST API, any folder-level encoding configured in Explorer now overrules the default encoding of the locale. For example, if a locale uses UTF-8 by default but the encoding of its target folder in Explorer is set to UTF-16, the assets downloaded from that folder will inherit the UTF-16 format.
Installer CRQ-15545 An issue related to the WorldServer installer timing out in certain situations while waiting for the .war files to be expanded has been resolved.
Projects CRQ-15568 When creating or modifying project types, you can now select a check box called Attribute Availability. If you select this check box on the WorldServer 11 interface, all the project attributes are displayed when you try to change the attributes of already existing projects. In previous versions, you could only change the attributes selected when creating the project.
Workflows CRQ-15705 Workflows created or updated with the new Workflow Editor (introduced in WorldServer 11.4) now adhere to the project or project group scope.
User interface CRQ-15959 On the WorldServer 11 interface, the number of characters that you can enter in Text Field task attributes has been increased from 128 to 4000.
Workflows CRQ-16389

Workflows created in WorldServer 11.4.0 or 11.4.1 with the new Workflow Editor and with the user interface set to German, Japanese, or Simplified Chinese sometimes generated errors when creating projects or when exporting workflows. This is no longer the case with workflows created in WorldServer 11.4.2.

Important: To apply this fix to workflows created in WorldServer 11.4.0 or 11.4.1, do the following to each of your workflows:

1. Open the workflow.

2. Select each human step and expand the Advanced section.

3. Make sure that a value is selected in the Transition Screen list. If no value is selected, select one.

4. Save the workflow.

SDL will provide regular cumulative updates, so that customers can benefit from the latest improvements and prevent potential issues. You can find announcements about new updates here.

WorldServer 11.4.2 is available on the public FTP.

Important: The supported Java SE Development Kit and Java Runtime Environment versions have changed as a result of the security improvements made in WorldServer 11.4.1. These changes apply both to the WorldServer application server and to client machines. If you are upgrading from a version of WorldServer earlier than 11.4.1, see Requirements for the application server and Supported browsers and recommendations for client machines.
