The WorldServer Support team has been asked this question many times: Is it possible to process PDF files in WorldServer? The answer is: yes... but then it depends what you mean, exactly Grinning. PDF files are not supported by a native file type, so based on this information alone, the answer would be: no, you cannot submit a PDF file and getting it segmented just as any other file format. If you submit them using a normal workflow, they will fail at segmentation because it will be recognized as an unsupported file format. However, the good news is: PDF files can still be submitted to WorldServer, but they need to be converted. WorldServer does it for you. In fact, there is a process to convert PDF files to Word DOCX files automatically through an Automatic Action called Convert PDF to Word 2007-2010 or, starting from version 11.7, renamed to Convert PDF to DOCX. Just make sure to include this Automatic Action in your workflow, and you are good to go.
