What would be the best way to log and organise translation jobs and tasks?

One of the clients sends us different texts that can be categorized into groups e.g. SOME, Newsletters and User Manuals. What we want to see in Reports is how many words were translated per each group per language, but I'm not sure how I can set this up. On the vendor side, I would also like to see what vendors are working on each group, and e.g. what vendor has translated more SOME or more Newsletters, etc. I'm using the Team edition of Business Manager.
