Repair termbase

Once again my termbase cannot be reorganised (because terms are not found).

How can be repair the existing TB (with approx. 2500 entries)?

Export/import would seem to be an possibility, but the options are confusing.

  • Hi

The Glossary Converter app is an easy way to export and import termbases and that process can be used to smooth out any corruptions:

    Glossary Converter

It's very good at converting termbases to Excel. You can check visually for errors in Excel then convert back to .sdltb termbase format, at which point an error message may flag up anything that isn't as it should be. Then you can look it up in the error log and pinpoint where it is, correct it and convert the termbase again...

To know how to use the Glossary Converter, click on 'Learn how to use this app' on the above page ...

    I hope this helps!

    All the best,

    Alison

Thanks Alison. I looked at the Converter, but, at least for me, its use is non-intuitive. Even the Help does not explain where the input file comes from. When I specify an In file it wants to overwrite it.

I was thinking like a programmer rather than as a user. "Dragging" the corrupted TB to the Converter resulted in it being repaired. Thanks

    Hi

    You're welcome!

I sometimes forget to change which head I have on when I come across a problem in my own environment.

I'm glad it worked for you, that's super!

    All the best,

    Alison

I have the exact same problem, and it's really annoying, I'll try this way. :)
