I have just updated Studio 2021 and re-installed the plugin necessary to upgrade memories (as I was getting an error message and the function would not work anymore).
Now I simply cannot even open Studio...
I ave saved the error file, but I'm not sure how to upload it, so copy and pasted it below..
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Hi clothilde courtois
I assume you upgraded to Studio 2021 CU8?
I also assume you where wanting to install the migration utility pack?
If yes to both, did you see this warning when installing:
Hi clothilde courtoisThankfully you can leave Studio as such but if you look at your integrated app store, you do have the option to view installed plugins.
Depending what you have installed and want to…
Please verify if you installed the correct versions which may require you to remove any unwanted versions.
Looking forward to your response
Thank you for your reply. I am pretty sure this is what happened, yes. As I now cannot open Trados at all, how can I remove the unwanted version? Do I need to remove the whole of Trados and re-install?
Depending what you have installed and want to remove, you can click on the binAlternatively, you can remove the plugins from:
1. C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Packages2. C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked
Let me know if uninstalling what we think was the wrong version of the plugin was of any help.
Yes I did uninstall the offending plugin, opened Trados again (which seems fine again).
I have then re-installed the migration utility pack (the install seemed to go fine this time) but I cannot see the "upgrade TM" button on the right of the ribbon, where it used to be (the button on my previously installed plugin was not working anymore, which is what prompted the re-install in the first place). Has it moved, or has the process changed?
So after "resetting" Studio I am now trying to re-install the Compatibility and Migration Power Pack. If I have the latest updated version of audio 2021, which is the version I- am looming for? Is it not the version that appears in the integrated appstore?
Ok, so in the end I had installed the right version after the upgrade... I'm not sure why Studio didn't like it, but after removing the plugin and re-installing it finally worked. Thanks for your input!
