I am not able to create a Termbase on Multiterm 2019 (nor am I able to convert a glossary using glossary converter). I keep receiving a pop up message saying invalid file name. I am following all steps shown on tutorial videos. Why would my file name be invalid?! PLEASE HELP!
In the Kb this is an error you might see if you don't have the latest service pack installed for Windows 7, but I see you are not using Windows 7. Perhaps it's worth trying a couple of things:
Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart MultiTerm:c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm15
Thanks for your answer
I do have W10.
How/ where do check whether I have the latest service pack installed?
Help -> About.
Can't seem to find the name of the file anywhere! Can you help with that please?
For MultiTerm (Help tab → About SDL MultiTerm):
For Trados Studio (Help tab → SDL Trados Studio):
what is the name you wanted to put for this TB or if you tried to convert a file with glossary convertor, what's the name of the original file (I guess it's an Excel file)? Maybe it's too long or it contains special caracters.
I tried different names for the TB such as Test termbase, Rana Termbase, or simply test.
But the Excel glossary has a longer name indeed. I just changed it to a shorter name and still it didn't work!
Thanks a lot
That was helpful thanks.
I do have the latest update.
I was however trying to find the file name in order to change it as suggested by Paul above.
(If it still fails after that try a reset.
Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Multiterm)
This is where I need help.
Appreciate any suggestion you may have
