Detecting language please wait for.......
I tried to find out how to edit the xml file to add Duden.de to the list of search providers. Could you help me, please? I would need an example, I'm afraid I'm not able to edit the file on my own. My language combination is Czech and German, however, I'wll be able to fix this even if I see the tags for e.g. another language combination... Thank you in advance!
In this article:
The Duden provider was added using this:
<SearchProvider Name="Duden - German"> <Url>www.duden.de/...…
<SearchProvider Name="Duden - German"> <Url>www.duden.de/.../Url> <Icon>Duden.png</Icon> </SearchProvider>
I have no idea if this still works or not as the article was written in 2012, but perhaps that will help get you started?
thank you very much for your answer. I tried to add the lines above in the xml file, however, the result is, there's no Duden nor other search providers in the app interface any more, see the attached picture. I've also reinstalled the SDL Multiterm, but the problem is still there.
There are two more printscreens. Nr 1: the piece of text I added to the xml; Nr. 2: the error message I get.
The xml is indeed not well formed. You need to correctly close the <Url> tag, like this </Url>. So, basically a less than sign is missing. In addition, remove the ellipsis from the duden URL, that is, simply, www.duden.de/
Did you have success? Which query string does Duden use? Also, do you know mentor.duden.de? It's the best German language checker I have come across so far - not good, but the best so far. Unfortunately they don't have API access, and no plugins for Studio. They seem to be planning one for Word.
I'd love to know whether you managed to make Duden access work for this widget.
Further to Paul's suggestion - in SDL Studio 2019, the path for the WidgetSearchProviders.xml file is in:
