I have transferred my termbase to a new laptop. All the entries are complete since I can access them via the entry numbers. However, if I search for the respective terms, the entries do not appear in the hit list. What can I do?

I am unable to find a valid licence or account for you, so i cannot verify the licence version you have or whether you are using a trial version perhaps.
Assuming you have a valid SDL Studio Freelance or higher version, please ensure BOTH Studio and MultiTerm are on the latest stand.
Thanks very much for your reply. I have a valid licence for SDL MultiTerm 2009. All updates are installed. The user is my 80 year old father whose digital skills are limited which is why I support him with this query.
It is a mystery to me why since the transfer about two thirds of the entries cannot be retrieved using the terms rather than the entry numbers. I have been wondering if it would make sense to export all entries and reimport them. Do you think this might help?
It is most definitely worth trying (export and reimport into a new Termbase) to see if this helps.
You could also try reorganising theTermBase first-

Thank you very much! Unfortunately, reorganizing has not solved the problem.
Meanwhile, I have done an export which has worked well. All the terms were exported into a txt file. I set up a new termbase with the definition of the old.
When trying to import the Terms (several times), 0 terms were imported. Can you give me any further advice?

I have managed to do the export and Reimport. The bug seems to have disappeared so that I have been able to search for all the terms by entering the terms rather than the entry numbers.
I still have a general Question: Would you recommend to buy an updated version? If so, what would it cost?

The 2009 version is now rather dated and there has been enhancements over the years so there could be many reasons why you should upgrade.
MultiTerm Desktop is also delivered free of charge when you buy a Studio (freelance or higher) licence.
However, it would be good to discuss how you use Terminology- whether this is for your own use- use within an orgainsation etc.
