What's New in SDL
Detecting language please wait for.......
Hi everyone, I am really a novice here, so I may not be doing everything ok.
However, everything was going well during my last translation project. The only error message I got from Studio was trying to export final file... but I don't know if this has something to do with Multiterm... (at least it was not specified).
When I open the termbase from the main page in Studio, it seems that I can add a new term, but the window never opens either. But if I try to add again the same word, I have a message saying that an entry already exists for this term...
Can somebody help with this?
Thank you a lot for your patience
Hello Mathilde Bachler Klein ,
Are you able to open MultiTerm separately?
If so please ensure that both MultiTerm and Studio are both on the latests stand ( Help- Check for updates). Version incompatibility is one of the main reasons for MultiTerm errors.
The error regarding the export final file is likely to be caused by something else.
It would be good if you can replicate the issue and post the full error stack-
Hi,thank you for the reply.
No, MultiTerm does not open separately either... When I click on the desktop icon, Multiterm's icon appears on the bottom bar and blinkes, but nothing happens after that.
This sounds as though MultiTerm is opening off screen.
This wiki article should help you.

Thank you a lot! Actually I did the check for updates process just in case, and I was able to open Multiterm. Now, when I try to add a new term, a new entry is created but the window I get in Studio get stucked in "Loading base term in progress" (or something like that, I use the French ). If I go back to Multiterm, I can see the entry has been created but I cannot add my french translation from the window in Studio, I have to go back to MultiTerm.
Please go to View and reset Windows layout (Studio/MultiTerm)
Then if the problem persists - remove the Termbase from the project- then reorganize the termbase
https://gateway.sdl.com/articles/FAQ/000001161
Then add the Termbase into the project.
Hopefully this will resolve the issue.
I just did what you proposed. I don't know if it works because I get an error message "an element with the same key has already been added" when I try to open the TermBase...
And now I also get this message... argh...
I restarted Studio, but I am still having the same problem with the adding of a new term from Studio.
However, now I am able to enter the translation from Multiterm, but not directly from Studio (the loading window freezes)
Hello Mathilde Bachler Klein,
Are you possibly saving your resources to the cloud or an external hard drive?
This article relates to TM issues rather than Termbase, but may still apply

If you are still having issues- I would suggest logging a free installation ticket via your SDL Account/Support

Hello Steven! I am back after a week...
What I have now is that: I can create a quick new entry from Studio in Multiterm (it works), but the MultiTerm box won't open (it keeps 'loading' endlessly). I can then go to MultiTerm window and modify the entry if needed, but not from Studio.
Concerning the last message you sent, I don't use external source to save resources.
