I got the error message "A connection to MultiTerm Server could not be established. Please check your connection settings". I tried the solution given in the Knowledge Base, i.e. renaming the MultiTerm15 folder in the Roaming SDL\SDL MultiTerm folder, but that hasn't worked. I then got so desperate I completely uninstalled MultiTerm (and yes I did uninstall it using the correct procedure), but then couldn't reinstall it. Finally I got so desperate I reinstalled the entire Trados Studio SR2 App. I've now gone to the ribbon and tried to create a Termbase and it says MultiTerm isn't installed. I don't understand this as when I go to it via C:\Users\Username\AppData....etc, I can see the MultiTerm files all there. I don't have a scooby doo what's going on. Can ANYONE help???? Any help much appreciated!
It's important to make sure you have the up to date and compatible versions of Studio/Multiterm installed. You should have these:
SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 18.104.22.16831SDL MultiTerm 2019 - 22.214.171.124482
Make sure you have these and see if the problem persists.
Thanks, I'll give this a try and see how it goes
I just downloaded MultiTerm direct from my account page and still the same problem persists.
ok - in that case try a reset first. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\126.96.36.199
So the path would become this:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\188.8.131.52_old
If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:
If that doesn't help then I suggest you log a support case.
You have two options:
1. Submit a case using a webform2. Use live chat to get a licence reset
You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.
Thanks. Have requested a licence reset. We'll see how that goes.
