Consider this scenario. Trados Live offers an excellent terminology resource, including termbase templates, and the popular and successful Glossary Converter can handle very well the terminology needs for the Trados Studio CAT tool users, plus applications like Excelling MultiTerm, an interface between Microsoft Excel and SDL MultiTerm (within Trados Studio), enables users to skip SDL MultiTerm Desktop.
So let me rephrase my question and ask a second one. Will SDL MultiTerm Desktop become another free appstore solution? What is the future of SDL MultiTerm Desktop? Thanks.

there are no plans to make this free.
Hi Ozzie O
I don't understand the question. SDL MultiTerm Desktop is already free to anyone who owns Studio.
Why would it be moved from the list of core product downloads in your SDL Account to the Appstore?
SDL MultiTerm Extract can be installed by anyone, Studio license not necessary.
Really? I know you find MultiTerm falls short of what it could achieve for you but I think it's an amazing piece of kit and I love using it. I use no further plug-ins for it beyond Glossary Converter.
Its interaction with Studio continues working beautifully in the background so long as I open MultiTerm Desktop occasionally to check for updates, and I never have a problem that I can't resolve.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
All the best,
Not really. SDL MultiTerm Desktop works fine for me too. My questions are related to what I believe is the current scenario of SDL MultiTerm Desktop usage vis-à-vis other tools.
I still see MultiTerm as a core product alongside Studio so I wouldn't expect it to be available free without Studio...
Glad it works fine for you too!
