I just installed Trados 2019 and noticed have to install the convertor plugin separately. Here is the ling to the plugin: https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/sdlxliff-converter-for-ms-office/2/
However, when I tried to convert an XLIFF file to a Word document, it failed with this message:
I do have OpenXML installed, here is a Control Panel screenshot:
When I click on "Yes" no file is produced. What could be the cause for this issue?
Hello Georgi Ivanov ,
Would you be able to share the file with me that you are trying to convert so that we can test this?
Hi Steven Whale! Thank you for looking into this. I can't share the exact file in this example but this happens with any file, so I have prepared one with a Wikipedia article - I'm sending it to your email. It generates the same error inside the SDLXLIFF Convertor like the example above.
Thanks Georgi Ivanov ,
I will take a look at this and get back to you.
We have just installed 2019 and we get the same error message. Did you find out what the solution was?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Hello @Núria Gili,I ended up using a workaround with the builtin Trados function, that does almost the same - from the Review Tab while you have the file opened in Editor: Export and Import for/from review.
Sometimes importing back doesn't work, in which case I re-do the export and copy-paste table columns from the file with the actual review changes - then importing works.
Thank you, Georgi, for this workaround. We will try this.
