Target Word Count App by Jesse Good is not compatible with SDL Trados 2019. Is there any App available? Or is there an update available?
Hello siddhika thakkar,
You should use the Target Word Count application which is compatible with SDL Trados 2019 and maintained by Sdl Community Developers. You can download it from here: https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/target-word-count/965/ .
With kind regards,
Thank you Florentina. I have downloaded it. its a plugin file. can you please guide me how to add it to trados 2019.
Right, that is quite inconvenient. You have to detour via "batch processing" route.
if you have SDL Trados Studio version 2017, try my PlugIn, it is quite simple to use.
Just one click and all done.

Have I missed something? Tina just gave siddhika thakkar the 2019 version of the plugin for the very same thing. Yes it's a batch process... but that's because it's also used at the Project level, so you could have 500 files in your project and generate target wordcount reports for them all in one go. It also creates the xml file in a seperate folder which I know is used by some users for import into a costing system. All seems quite convenient to me.
siddhika thakkar just download the plugin and then double click it to install it.
1. Batch process is a good idea, I agree
2. But, You'd better to have better way to calculate single document
3. (S)He has problem with it, donno how to start with. That is one big problem

That's true... but the problem was how to install a plugin, not how to use it!

You are not trying to translate the plugin file so yo don't right-click and open it in Studio. Just double cick it and this should invoke the plugin manager so you can install it. If that doesn't work for you just copy it into this folder and restart Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages\
