This issue has been discussed before, but no satisfactory solution has been provided yet. It's about the Verify check in SDL Trados Studio being extremely slow. The Studio support cannot fix this issue as it's the third party plugins (Number Verifier and MS Grammar Check) that are slowing down the process. However, our standard processes dictate we must use these plug-ins, so deactivating them is not an option and far away from a solution. Please do something about it.
Have you tried making sure you are not using the extended messages? This adds a lot of overhead to the performance.
MS Grammar plugin... this is already a pretty poor solution and it won't get any better. I would have removed this from the appstore a long time ago but left it there because of requests from users who still want it despite its shortcomings. There is no proper API for this in Microsoft so the solution is a hack.
Hi Paul, thanks for your message. We know the work-around of not using the extended messages. Still, the plugin is slowing down Studio. We would actually need a proper replacement by our developers as the grammar check is a requirement at SDL.
This one (available as plugin for Studio) is faster and more reliable: https://languagetool.org/
It can check Polish and some other languages. If the languages you need are covered, I would switch to Language Tool.

I would try the Languagetools plugin as Jerzy suggested. There won't be an updated version of the Grammar Checker you see today unless Microsoft make an API available to use theirs.
Hi Jerzy, I receive an error message when trying to perform the QA check using the LanguageTool plugin: LanguageTool server is not available. How do I establish a connection to the server?
