I recently bought sdl trados studio 2019 and thought that it was a good idea to add the Deepl plugin. I bought Deepl pro, then I went to the appstore, downloaded the plugin and then, when I double clicked on the file, nothing happened. I clicked again and again, tried to click on "Open with..." but nothing happened at all. I downloaded it again but nothing happened either. I tried to add another plugin to see if it was just Deepl but it was the same : I click, there is a little thing that shows that it was correctly executed and then nothing.
Has anyone here encountered the same issue and then found a solution? I kind of need this tbh, and the Deepl subscription is also a little bit expensive so I really need your help.
Thanks a lot for your answers.
Good morning Théophile,
I have just recently downloaded the DeepL Plugin and introduced DeepL Pro and it worked fine. Perhaps you might check whether DeepL is added to the list of resources when setting up a project (i.e. in the step where TMs are chosen it should be the last one below the other TM options).
Hope, this helps - best - Renate Dockhorn
Try copying the sdlplugin file to here and then restart Studio:
c:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages\
Well it is a little bit weird because it doesn't appear in my plugin list but when I try to modify the settings of my project it appears on the MT list. BUT when I click on it, I write my API key and then an error message appears saying that it cannot charge a file called "Newtonsoft.Json, Version 126.96.36.199, Culture=neutral, Public key token = a list of number and that this file is unobtainable"
What should I do next? Just to be clear, I have the latest version, on a brand new laptop that is totally functional.
Thanks a lot
tou need to update Studio to the latest release.
As I said in my last message I HAVE the latest version, or at least I think that I have it because I bought SDL Trados studio yesterday and downloaded it also yesterday so I don't see how I could have dl another version. How can I check which release I have? And where can I dl the latest release?
I should also mention that I started with the free version of sdl trados and then bought it after 15 days.
EDIT : I also forgot to say that I didn't create any project and thus have nothing but the sample project
you need to use the automatic update in Studio to take the latest version. The reason you see that message is because the version you downloaded and installed is not the latest version available and there were updates.
you should see the small orange notification in Studio telling you this.
Just to add to this now I'm at my laptop. The current versions you should have are these:
SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 188.8.131.525
SDL MultiTerm 2019 - 184.108.40.206289
If you can't see how to use the automatic update, which is the easiest method please download the update manually and install from this KB article:
