I wonder why in Trados 2021 (German UI) I don't get any reaction or dialog when I click on the "Advanced" option of an Inline tag in the definition of a RegEx-based file type?I believe that there should be an option to include or exclude the content within a tag pair, am I right?
Thanks for any help!
Thanks Jens Olaf Koch Jerzy Czopik

Try restarting Studio, in my case that helped (AFAIR). Otherwise this is a bug. A big one, unfortunately...
Jens Olaf Koch
I don't think this is a bug at all. What kind of rule is that supposed to be? Use something meaningful and it'll probably activate.
Hi Jerzy, restarting doesn't help, I had tried that already.
The problem Jens Olaf Koch is most likely that you need to actually define the tag pair expressions. Using a dot, which means any character, is hardly appropriate.
I have the same effect on all working production placeholders and tag pairs. I tried to deinstall plugins, I tried English as UI language, all to no avail. I haven't seen the dialog since installing 2021 ...
Please can you provide your filetype settings?
You are right, but during a presentation (Dr. Studio) I have had this problem too with a very valid regex tag expression.
Did you report it? Can you reproduce it?
Unfortunately I was in hurry. There is a recording of this webinar, I can provide a link to it.
Hi Paul, I guess you mean these settings:
Yes... but I meant your actual settings so I can see whether the problem is the settings or something local to you. Click here:
Then export your filetype settings for this filetype. You can zip them and attach them to the thread.
It's worth a look if you were building a filetype from scratch. Send me the link and let me know when in the webinar I should find this.
Dear Paul, sent off forum.
I actually managed to repro this on my own machine... not sure how. So I searched the bug database and did manage to find a bug for this. It's logged under our reference CRQ-21027 and has apparently been resolved. So it should be in the next update.
I can't find a workaround for this but the next update should not be too far away.
