Can we count word repetitions as opposed to segment repetitions?

How can we find and count the words repeated in a document? And is there a way when we reach a word already translated above, to be automatically filled as it does with a full segment??

  • Counting word repetitions is not interesting per se, since what would you do about the words ‘the’, or ‘a’ for instance, which will most probably repeat themselves many times in any English file… ?

If you want to focus on useful terms that appear more than x times in the same file, you can use the application projectTermExtract which allows you to extract term candidates for your project. The extracted terms are displayed in the form of a term cloud, which you can fine-tune on the fly. It’s possible to create and load ‘stopword lists’ containing words that you wish to ignore.

The final results can be added as a separate file to your project, and after translation they can be converted to a termbase, which can then be used to improve the term consistency in your project.

If you wish to insert terms into your segments automatically, you can have a look at the tool TermInjector.
