How do I save a local copy of a project made in Trados Live? I need this file kind of now. I tried many ways to refresh on both Studio and Live, but it is still 0 % in project live. But please, how do I get a copy offline?
Richard Jacobs
Hi Steven, thank you for the reply. It worked out in the end, but it was not how to download from the cloud, but how to make a copy of the target file in desktop version (as I did the translation there…
Ah thanks! Well hidden though ;)
Hello Knut Atle Klausen ,
Go to the projects view- Select the project
Now select FILES and the files you wish to download
The project files will then be downloaded as a .zip so you can save them as a local copy.
Hi Steven, thank you for the reply. It worked out in the end, but it was not how to download from the cloud, but how to make a copy of the target file in desktop version (as I did the translation there). The problem was, that it said 0 % progress in the cloud and I needed to upload the file. It worked out because it did become 100 % after some time - but not at once, I hope that is not normal, it should updated almost in real time, like Memsource do.
Hi, I've the same problem... impossible ti save the target file in the desktop local version.
Hello Alessia Vonau ,
If you created the project in the cloud- have you downloaded this to Studio?
You should see the target folder -
If this isn't the case, could you explain in more detail/ provide screens shots perhaps?
Hello everybody,
As a user, I might not be very academic, but I have created my first project Friday in the Cloud and it appeared automatically in Studio offline.
Then I have created a bigger project from Studio offline, choosing to create it in the Cloud and I have started to work online, then I checked if it was in Studio offline and when I open the file, I have a message saying that I have a more recent version in the Cloud and if I want to download it and I enter "Yes" and when I open the file offline, it's exactly the same as the one online.
I have also tried Antidote in the Cloud and it works perfectly with Studio Live.
To save the target file, I just complete the project in Studio Live and it downloads a zip file on my local computer.
I am very happy with Studio Live as it meets perfectly my needs and expectations
But what if you create the project in the Cloud, work on it Studio and hence want to get the finished, target file in Studio. The option is greyed out and there's no way to simply save the target file. You have to go the web version to get it. That's rather complicated if you ask me, there should be a way to get the target file in Studio.
I can see what you mean, I couldn't say that's it's complicated, it just asks a bit more time…
It's a new tool and maybe the developers didn't see this but I'm confident that they will find a solution as it will save us some precious time
Well, I think it takes too long before a project that is completed in Studio shows up as completed in SDL Live (and vice versa). But I know it's a work in progress, but if we don't tell them, they don't know what to fix ;). Feedback is always important, especially for new products like SDL Live and the Cloud.
I agree with you that we have to tell them, but we must also be a bit patient
I think they did very well up to now, compared to MemSource or XTM!
There's a Webinar on 26th August and we might have some answers then
Indeed... where's Shift+F12 when you need it ;-) Perhaps a future update...
Thank you very much!
Well, weirdly enough that doesn't let me save a Word file in Studio, and also weirdly enough SDL Live doesn't update with the translation I made in Studio. Studio keeps telling me there's an updated Cloud version (which is hours older) and that's about it. In the end I had to accept the Cloud version, running batch task didn't work, so I had to manually go through the segments before SDL Live updated and I could get the target, Word, file from there. This was a waste of time to be honest. Please make it possible to get the correct target file in Studio as well.
