Hi,
I just downloaded SDL Studio 2021 & wanted to create my first Cloud Project. I can add my TMs and Termbases without any problem, but I can't find where/how I can add Google Translate (even though in the documentation on SDL Trados Live, it says that this should be possible).
Has anyone else tried this (and succeeded)?
Many thanks in advance for the replies!
Gert
I have this question too.
I tried to do it and it did'nt work.
I have an account with Microsoft translator on Azur and Google Translate.
I wrote all the information when prompted to do so bu SDL…
Suzanne Chabot
Two things here.

This will not be useful in Trados Live because there is no plugin available yet for Microsoft Translator…
Thank you for your answer. I know that Google translate is not free.
I installed the app and my key is valid.
I try to use it on the new SDL Live Trados Freelance Essential .
I followed the steps you mentioned…
I have not been successful yet at connecting Trados Live (not Studio) with Google MT. Although this page has many helpful tips, it just does not seem to be coming together for me. I feel like I have been on an odyssey and my head is swimming.
I activated the Google MT Provide Add-on (a day ago), but when I look in the Resources>NMT Models I still only see the SDL MT options.
But most important for me is to know if I will be able to use the glossary for specific translations. I have not seen anywhere in the add-ons settings in Trados Live for the Google MT Provider to designate the glossary, or the bucket it is stored in at Google.

Where are you seeing Resources -> NMT Models? You need to create a Translation Engine and then when you complete the fields from the top down you should get Google and SDL as possible options when you come to add a machine translation engine. For example:

As far as I am aware the Trados Live plugin is dumb to these options. So it only allows you to get generic NMT based on the V3 configuration. If yo want to do more we only have this available so far via the Studio plugin as I showed in the video.
Paul,
NMT Models is the rightmost listed under Resources ... [Template Engines] [Translation Memories] [Terminology] [Language Processing Rules] [NMT Models] I stumbled across it and thought it just might show something.
When making a new Translation Engine (by copying an existing one) I delete the currently listed SDL options and select [Add Machine Translation Engine] where I only see the SDL options. (wish I could upload the image, looks like yours only no Google). When I look in Add-ons it shows me the Google MT Provider is activated. Thank you also for your answer and insight about the glossaries. I believe we will have to wait until this option is available.
I have the same issue. I managed to install the Add-on, but when creating a translation engine, I still only see SDL.
Paul, would you be so kind and let us know which step we need to do so that the Google MT appears in the options for MT?
Lisa Arnold
As I have explained at length in this thread already, if you understand the difference between the versions of Google MT (nothing at all to do with anything we are doing here) then you will know that the Google add-on for Trados Live is not the same as the version provided in Studio. So you need to review the Google website to see how you need to set this up. I suggest you look at the video above as it will give you some idea of where to look and how to find the appropriate instructions from Google.
