Hello!
When I confirm a segment in Online Editor and move on to the next one, it very often happens that the text I have just translated is not retained. I then have to re-type the same text and try to confirm it several times before it works. This is very annoying.
I have tried every combination (Ctrl+Enter, Ctrl+Alt+Enter, Ctrl+Alt+Shift+Enter) and it makes no difference. What is the problem?
Thank you in advance!
Mario
HI,
can you provide some screen recording of this problem?
Hello Mario Giacchetta ,
You mention this happens sometimes but not always?
Would you be able to provide a recording of when this is happening - perhaps using a free tool such as Screen to GIF- https://www.screentogif.com/
Here we go!
As you can see, the text of segment number 9 was not saved after I confirmed it.
Sometimes it works on the first try. Other times, only the last words or letters are missing. Do I have to wait a while before I confirm?
Can you try F5 before you retype it - just to ensure if the backend got the update or not?
I've tried a couple of times but it doesn't change anything.
Which browser are you using? If you are not using it already, please try Chrome.
I've been using Firefox, but I'll give it a try with Chrome. Thank you very much for your help!
OK, I've just tried it on Chrome and it makes absolutely no difference. My translations are not saved when I confirm the segment, or at least not entirely. I think I'll leave it at that and work only in Studio from now on.
I found the idea of being able to connect online from anywhere, for example at home, very tempting, but unfortunately the system doesn't seem to work properly yet.
Thanks anyway!
We looked into details and we can reproduce this only when typing really, really fast - this might be kind of more visible in case your machine is slow. Could you, after finishing typing wait for a 2 seconds?
On Editor status bar (bottom part) you should see notification about changes being saved.
Hi Patrik
The speed at which I type or confirm the segment doesn't seem to play any role in my case. But here's what I've noticed: the problem usually occurs...a) when I modify a previously confirmed segment (the changes are not saved when I confirm again)b) when the segment contains words from the terminology base. There seems to be some kind of interference.
Perhaps this will help you.
