I purchased Trados today, but machine translation/pre-translate isn't working at all.
I was able to add language pairs before, but that didn't work either, so I uninstalled and then reinstalled Trados 2019.
The software is activated, and I have the MT subscription active.
The Language account is also active.
The version is updated.
The plug-in is the most recent and enabled.
But when I go to add the Language cloud...
Even when I was able to add pairs in the past, pre-translation or MT suggestions didn't work.
This was one of the main reasons I bought Trados, so it is frustrating that it isn't working.
So an update:
I had to be activated on the Machine Translation Cloud
And not JUST the Language Cloud
Try again now. I had the same problem and I think it was a server issue. It seems to be back again so please try again.
I tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling Trados. I also added my trial of DeepL to see if that works (it doesn't).
I have it to automatically add MT results.
But when I go to the editor, it gives me a dual "bad request".
So not even DeepL is working.
I even manually allowed Trados in my firewall (outbound and inbound).
So I am officially out of ideas.
ok. First of all please can you make sure you have the latest version of Trados installed.If you only installed the one you purchased it won't be up to date.
Then reinstall DeepL and also make sure you have whitelisted these domains:
Now try again with DeepL and Language Cloud. If you still have a problem please check the response you are getting with Fiddler:
This may help us identify why the calls are not getting through for you.
Hello Paul, thanks. It seems likely that Frederik's problem and mine are identical. I'll post only here for the time being; no need to have a second thread where you have to write the same things over again. Like Frederik, I installed the software only yesterday. Frederik's name looks German, and I am from Germany. Maybe this could help you pinpoint the problem?
I'm also based in Germany and don't have this problem anymore. So I think the best thing is to make sure you are both fully up to date and if you're both still having this problem we'll engage technical support on Monday.

I installed the FTP .exe (still no language cloud).
BUT - I found the problem with DeepL
- my network was set to public
I forced a private network and now at least DeepL is working.
Hopefully support can help with Language Cloud.

So I can now finally see this.
Something we are still working on is getting other varieties of English. Spelling is set to US English, even when the MT engine and the target language are UK English.
I did a German test file and all results came back with US spelling (Farbe, Nachbar, Programm > Color, Neighbor, Program).
But at least the NMT results are showing up in the editor.
We will see if support can iron out those kinks.
How does that activation work??
I get an error message on https://translate.sdl.com/login :
You are not allowed to login to SDL Machine Translation Cloud. Please use another account or contact your SDL Machine Translation Cloud administrator.
Oh my, all this seems to be so infinitely complicated :(

Support did it for me.
Log a case with language cloud support at the top left of the screen.
Even without a support contract, they helped directly.
As part of your issue (maybe even give them the link to this thread)
Get your Language cloud info
Then give them (copy paste)
Language Cloud Tenant
With that I was able to log in

Also, Radu Boloveschi is person from support who fixed it for me.
I logged the request today and he has been helping me.

Ignore the following. It works now. It seems that the settings concerning the source and target language of my project disappeared mysteriously into the digital nirvana, but I have re-added that information.
Can you look at the last picture? I want to activate the automated translation option in the Pre-Translate Batch task, but it’s greyed out. How can I change that? It seems that, alas, Radu does not know how to do it, or maybe it’s complicated and he didn’t have the time to answer my question.

I think it would be helpful if you started a new thread just for this part and showed not just the "last screenshot" (whichever one that was) but also a screenshot showing you have an MT provider active in your project settings.
