I will be translating a large, multi-chapter work which requires consistency throughout. I'd like to physically merge the chapters (all Word files) to apply the same Terminology Verifier, but will be completing and submitting the chapters individually, and a monthly basis. Is there a way of exporting just the chapter I have completed while keeping the rest of the project (i.e. merged file) open for translation?
Many thanks for any help. Relatively new to this, so apologies if this is a silly question.
Hi Clare Wilcox,
To merge the files in the project
1. create new project
2. add the files
3. select the files you want merged
4. click on merge button
5. give a name to the merged files and then press OK button
6. then it will appear only the merged files
Once your translation is done , to save the target files - File - save target as. Once this done you will be prompted to save individually the target files you merged at which stage you can choose to save only to the one for which the translation was done or all of them (each separately)
I hope the above helps
Thanks for your detailed reply! I just want to make sure I understand. :) Once I save and export one of the files, I can still work on the whole merged file, no problem, right? Again, many thanks for taking the time to help me with this!
Hi Clare Wilcox
Yes you can then go back and continue your work on the rest of the document no problem.
