HI, A direct client has sent me xliff files generated by WPML to translate his website but when I open them they are full of tags and code. Is there a filter or setting so I can translate them
(and also analyse the actual word count) more easily without the risk of compromising the code? Please help!
This is what it looks like when I open it in Studio
Hi Anne Prestwich
you can make the changes in the project, delete the source file and add the file again. This will make Studio use these settings to the file. This is not the normal way, but since you…
You can define rules to handle this in here. But you must do this prior to preparing your project:
Hi, Thanks for your help. Matteo Rozzarin also suggested I use a specific filter settings file but I can't seem to instruct SDL Studio to use this file with the "enable embedded content processing" when I create the project; it goes back to the default settings file which leaves all the code inside the files. Is there something I'm missing?
Perhaps you are using project templates and have not got this setup to use the embedded content processor? If you are then you need to make sure you configure the filetype in your templates too.

Thanks, I was indeed using a template, but now I've succeeded to configure the filetype there as well, so I'm good to go; the only doubt remaining is whether the clean xliff file in the target language will be ok for my client to re-import into WPML now that there's none of the code left....

Anne Prestwich the code is "gone but not forgotten". It'll be in the target file.
Ok great thanks for all your help!
