I have a IDML target file and translated SDLXLIFF files and I am trying to generate the final translated IDML documents. When I go to generate the target translations, I get the following erorr from Trados:
"Multiple Root Elements at line 3 pos. 28"
I currently cannot complete the translations for this document.
Hello Alex Forward ,
When posting in community- the more information you can provide, the easier it is for the community to offer a possible solution.
When there are errors, its essential that you post tat least the full error stack-
Based on the information you have provided, the error might be caused by embedded hyperlinks possibly in empty segments.
What happens if you take the original source (copy and rename first) then add add as a new single file translation.
Open the file in Studio and then immediately save target as (without doing anything to the file)?
Does this save normally or are there problems?
If so, try removing the hyperlinks from the source- reimporting the file and saving out again.
Hi Steven Whale
Thanks for the response. Here is the error message dialog:
I don't see a way to provide a more complete stack trace.I imported the file as a new single file translation and ran "Generate Target Translations" and got the same error. The source document contains hyperlinks and data merge fields. Do you have any tips for finding empty hyperlinks in the field and generally cleaning up the file?
As i dont use InDesign im hoping that someone will be able to advise on this- In Word this is a realive simple process- but i suspect you may need to have InDesign (so my research would suggest).
