I have updated Studio to the 2019 version. Now I have wrong language combinations, English-Japanese intead of English-Italian. It seems that I can't change it from the settings, what shall I do?
I need English-Italian but Italian is not an option I am offered. Please help.

Are you using a Studio Freelance edition? Could you please confirm if you mean that your default language pairs have been changed for some reason during the update?
The language pairs can be changed by repairing the Studio installation, or by reinstalling the software.https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001414

Thank you Greta. I'm afraid I wrote Japanese instead of Italian by mistake when I did the upgrade. I have disinstalled (hopefully) the program and tried to return the licence offline in order to reinstall the program. I have received a ticket on my email to return the licence but does not work. It says there is an error.
Can I simply download it again instead of returning the licence? Will I be able to change the language combination afther the new download? Silvia

But I'm not quite sure I fully understand what you mean. So you have uninstalled Studio, and now reinstalled it, but but without having deactivated your license first? And now the license deactivation is not working?What does the error message say, could you please elaborate?
Any case, the license reset should solve this issue, and then you will be able to reactivate your license in the newly installed Studio - if I understand your issue correctly.

The support video says I should deactivate the licence from the program, but I have uninstalled it following the instructions on the web! What shall I do now? Clicking on the link you provided it says I need to have a a maintenance contract. I simply need to change the language combination, why is it so difficult?? Who can help me with that?

Click on the link provided above (https://gateway.sdl.com/liveagentlicensing) and then click "Submit Case". Fill in the form and send it off. You don't need a maintenance contract for that.
On the link provided please click on the 'Request License Reset' button as described - that is free help, no need for a maintenance contract.

Now that I have my licence reset, what shall I do? I have unistalled Trados Studios 2019 upgrade (2017 is still there but doesn't seem to work any more). I remind you that I simply need to change English/French Japanese into English/French-Italian.

Please reinstall Studio 2019 > you will be asked to choose your languages. And then please activate it using the license now reset.

If you don't have the installer downloaded already, then please download the installer first from your SDL account, indeed. Whether via FTP or directly from the website, absolutely up to you, the installer will be the same.
I don't know what you mean. When I click on download it says Application, how do I know whether I have the installer downloaded already?
No worries, you can download the installer several times. Download it again and install Studio using the newly downloaded installer please.
