Since the last update of Trados Studio 2017 we are having an annoying problem. When Studio is starting it seems to load the update manager and then chrashes with the following message: "failed to add window command bar extensions". Reseting Studio by renaming the Appdata 126.96.36.199 Folder or project.xml as well as repairing it with the installation wizard does not help. The only thing that helps is to reinstall, just to experience it crash again at some point (the next day in our case). We dont know what to do.
Happened on two different machines (Windows 10, Windows 8), all updates installed.
We need your help, what can we do?
Kind regards, Marie Christine

For anyone having the same issue, we found it. As we are using the SDK, NuGet updated the dependencies and there is a newer Version of Newtonsoft Json available. If this update is done, Studio does not start anymore. If Studio is reinstalled, the new Newtonsoft is replaced with the old one and it works again.
This was also the solution when we had this problem. Newtonsoft JSON is a common library in the .net world, and you have to stick to the same version that your SDL Studio is using. You can find the version under program files(x86)/SDL/SDL Trados Studio/Studio15 (or 5 if you use 2017)/ right click on the NewtonsoftJSON.dll and look for details where you will find the version number.Configure your Nuget to use exactly the same version and keep updating the version number if you download SDL updates.
Hello Hendrik, I have this problem and now I can't work. Can you explain how to configure the Nuget to use the same version of Newtonsoft? I have no idea.
