What version of Studio? A bug fitting this description was resolved in Studio 2015. If you use 2015 can you make sure you have the current version instaled:
SDL Trados Studio 2015 SR3 - 12.3.5281.10SDL MultiTerm 2015 SR2 - 12.2.1657.4
2019 SDL Trados. When I opened the 2019 SDL Trados. I saw an update notification. I updated it just a short time ago.
I'd try a reset first as you ave just updated.
You could use this app for the reset and this will also explain what you will lose by carrying out a reset before you do it:
But if you'd rather do this manually then rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\22.214.171.124
So the path would become this:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\126.96.36.199_old
If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:
I just bought this and used it just once a couple of months ago to translate a .sdlxliff file. Before I noticed the update notification, I tried to open the .sdlppx file and failed to do so also. I tried to upload the file here and there is an error message also. The client who sent the file could open the file.
I found out I didn't update 2019 SDL Trados. I had the update notification again and completed the update. I have two .sdlxliff files that can be opened. I couldn't open one of the files before the update. I had some message about language pair set up. Only this .sdlppx can't be opened.
