The concordances search is not working anymore in Studio 2021. I tried it with different projects for different clients. It works for some of them and not for some others. I tried with F3 and from the menu (the "Search concordances" option is active, but when I try to use it "Searching..." appears and nothing happens).
I recently updated to SR 1 22.214.171.12470, but it is possible (not sure) that the problem was already there before.
Could you please help? This is a big problem!
Thanks in advance
Hello Marco Fiemozzi ,
Are you perhaps able to share a screenshot of the editor view/concordance window and what it is showing when you highlight the text and also Project settings-Translation Memory and Automated Translation.
This might help us find what the issue is.
Please make sure, that when you use F3, you have selected text on the source side. If you have copied source to target, then select something on the target side and then press F3, most probably nothing will be found, as you have toggled "target concordance" this way. It is advisable to use dedicated shortcuts for "source concordance" and "target concordance" instead of F3.
Hello Steven and Jerzy,
Thanks for your answers.
@Jerzy: Yes, of course I did highlight the word (though I found it practical in the old times with TagEditor, when you didn't have to highlight for concordances on a single word)
@Steven: Here follow the screenshots. The concordance one won't say much. I selected a word I am sure is in the TM (Art), when I strike F3 "Searching..." appears for a fraction of a second, then just "Nothing found"
Your translation memory requires upgrade. Please perform this and check again.
Thanks for your quick answer.
After I update the TM, the system performs an automatic TM Search successfully when I select a new segment (I have set it up to do so), BUT the F3 concordance search still doesn't work...
No error message, just an empty concordance window? Please try to press CTRL+F3 instead.
Not an empty concordance window. Simply nothing happens: the window of the automatic search when I enter the segment stays, no new concordance window or window update. Same if I use CTRL+F3
Please follow the advices from this article then to reset Studio: Repairing your installation of SDL Trados Studio
Unfortunately the situation didn't change
Sorry to hear that. I hope, now @Steve Whale will find a solution.
Hello Marco Fiemozzi ,
Can you please confirm
1) if the projects are stored locally or in the cloud
If it's the latter- do you get the same issues with local projects?
2) Do you get the same negative results if you right-click and select Concordance search instead of clicking F3?
1) It happens with all projects from one particular agency, the TM is local. Some days ago it was happening as well with one online TM from another agency, but this seems to work now
2) Yes, I get the same problem when I right click. Basically, the only way I can access their TMs is through the TM view
