Subtitling webinar, 11 March 2020....

Just a heads up that we are running a webinar on the subtitling features in Studio this afternoon:

Audiovisual Translation with SDL Trados Studio

There are a lot of new features in Studio to support this... many of them incorporated as result of the feedback we have seen here.  So if you have time, and are interested, it would be great to see you there.

Cheers

Paul.

  • I'm one of those currently using another tool for subtitle translation: Amara.org. It offers seamless integration with YouTube (no lag, frame accurate seeking, and no need to send large video files around the world for download). It is an online, browser-based tool, but it seems like SDL should be able to match the YouTube sync feature on the desktop Trados application.

I would love to see something similar offered by SDL, and gain the benefits of our TM, MT, and better TQA.

  • Thanks

It's not quite so straightforward as you make this sound, but this would be something that is interesting for us to investigate.  Streaming to a desktop tool goes through a process a browser based solution avoids so we'd need to gather some clear requirements from users wanting a solution like this before we would undertake anything like this in Studio.

    Happy to start here though!
