Problem with Termbases permissions in Trados 2017/2019 and Groupshare 2017 CU11

Hello,

We are facing some problems with permissions for our external translator to termbases helt by Groupshare.

The translators send their requests in the form of emails to our address, describing the problem that has occurred since the Groupshare update to CU11 (few months ago).
Today we tried to add another user to the TB 'techniczny en-de' to Users and public group.

Even if they are added to the correct group of permissions they still cannot have an access to the termbase.
Public group has all the necessary permissions to let translators use the TB (as far as we know) - it worked without any problems before on CU9.

His GS permissions is 'tlumacz zewnetrzny' with an access as below:

Could you please take a look at that and let us know what should we do to fix the issue? It's not only a problem for this specific TB and user - it happens randomly, usually it works well but if it happens once we are not able to fix it by removing and adding permissions etc - nothing helps then. The translator recieves the .sdltb file to locally add it to the project downloaded and checked out in Trados from our Groupshare server.

Thank you in advance and we are looking for a quick reply soon,

  • Hello Paweł and thank you for raising this on the forum!
Based on the screenshots provided, if the specific user is correctly listed as a member under Public restriction, accessing the termbase from Studio should work fine.
As a consequence, the situation requires testing and understanding from support. It would really help if you can raise this with GroupShare support and they will pinpoint a solution for this. If you have an SMA agreement you can raise a support case. If you do not have an SMA contract, you can contact your SDL Approved Reseller for more help.
    Best regards,
    Cristian
