CSV export: String ID not exported correctly

Question

I have a dll file with a string table with numbers as string IDs. When I export these strings, the string ID is not taken over correctly but a completely different number is displayed. I checked whether the column treats the number differently in the csv and also opened the csv in a text editor but it's plain number..

Any ideas welcome. We use this type of export for discussing strings with the customer's development team...

The string IDs in classic Win32 bit binary code is calculated quite weird. The concepts from Microsoft are really very old. StringTable resource entries are organized in blocks of 16 entries and each block starts with ID = 0. So you have to take the Resource ID into the calculation to get the real string ID.  So you have to export both the String ID and the Resource ID into the CSV file and then use the documentation above to calculate the string ID displayed in SDL Passolo. For most of the users that use the CSV export to just exchange translatable data with translators the real calculated IDs are not relevant. 
 
 In your use case I would suggest to additionally export the Resource ID , then import the CSV into Excel and add a column that implements the calculation from the knowledge base article above.
