As the title says, DXA 2.2 is now released (the official release date was the 20th of July). The new version of the framework can be found on SDL's official GitHub, here.

Changes

The list of (new) features is not long, but keeping in mind that the focus of this release was to have feature parity between .NET and Java, this is not surprising. To clarify on the earlier statement, DXA 2.1 supported only .NET and it served to showcase the new features of SDL Sites 9, which by the way, was the only supported version of the platform.

DXA 2.2. reintroduced support for SDL Web (Sites) 8.5 and Java.

List of changes, taken from the release notes:

  • Support for SDL Tridion Sites 9 features
    • Support for GraphQL Content Service
    • Support for Content Mashups
    • Support for native Page Regions
  •  Support for SDL Tridion Sites 8.5 and higher
  •  Incorporated Community Contributions

This blog was a short intermezzo in the Sites 9.1 series and it came at a good time as the subject I'm currently working on "Beyond DXA 2.0", so stay tuned to see what awaits us after 2.2.
