Parsing text layers in Adobe file types is always a sticky subject, so this one sounds quite interesting!  How about a standalone application utilising the SDL Studio APIs? It would probably require preloading a batch of Adobe files and processing their translatable content into SDL Studio and round tripping back again.  There are standalone SDL Open Exchange apps already out there that do something similar such as SDL TTX It!;

Roughly;

1. Create new Project
2. Specify languages
3. Adobe files are added as a batch
4. Text is extracted
5. Studio project is created
6. Pushes project to Studio
7. Pushed back to converter when done in Studio
8. Converter merges back into Adobe source files
9. Also manages any subsequent context changes required from further review of Adobe files?

Hello everybody,

This is interesting for me either.

I also created tools parsing PSD and FLA files for translatable strings. I'm using the XLIFF format to export source strings from and import translated strings to PSD and FLA. It would be more than nice to extend the tools by adding an interface to Studio e.g. for autotranslate PSD/FLA files.

I know how this would work in Trados 2007 and earlier, but I have no idea for Studio yet. So, I'll keep an eye on this discussion.
